Volunteers from the Animal Protective League greeted customers at Ace Hardware in Chatham Sunday, Aug. 7, with an announcement – it’s kitten season.
In conjunction with Ace Hardware, the APL has been setting up pet adoptions every other weekend at the Chatham location.
“We have lots of kittens right now,” said Chatham resident Lisa Brubaker, who has been volunteering with the APL for six years. “Most kittens are born in the spring and during the months of July and August, they’re ready to be adopted after they have reached 10 to 12-weeks-old.”
Among many kittens awaiting adoption Sunday were Apricot, a three-month-old male, and Gwenivere, a 14-month-old tortoiseshell female.
