Another animal special has been approved to run at the Rockingham County Animal Shelter through the end of the summer, or at the director’s discretion.
The Animal Shelter Advisory Board voted to approve an $80 dog adoption special after seeing the success of the cat adoption special this past month. Director Kevin Baughn said the shelter has seen a substantial number of cats get adopted, even though intake numbers are still extremely high.
“We have close to 100 dogs right now and we try to keep the adoptable ones as long as we can,” he said, “but summertime is a busy season for intakes.”
