Sisters Heather and Katie Sheedy will run the Rock-N-Roll Half-Marathon on Aug. 14 in Chicago, but this weekend, the two will raise funds for the charities they will represent in the race.
The Sheedys will hold the Donate to Motivate fundraiser Saturday at Eagles Hall to raise money for Creide Skubic, a 5-year-old Coal City resident who has leukemia, and PAWS Chicago, a no-kill humane organization and dog and cat adoption center.
Katie, 22, is running to benefit Creide, who has ALL, a type of leukemia. He is a strong child, she said, despite having been through so much at such a young age. Katie’s father works with Creide’s father.
Heather, 25, is running to support PAWS Chicago, a no-kill humane organization that offers cat and dog adoption, clinics, education, resources, advocacy programs and contacts.
