Burlington’s pet adoption center aims for national prize – Burlington Times News

Burlington Pet Adoption Center is planning to spend the next three months saving more than 300 dogs and cats.

At least, that’s what the agency needs to do to be eligible to compete for $100,000 in the ASPCA Save More Lives Challenge.

In April, Burlington Pet Adoption Center received more than 6,500 votes to qualify as one of the 50 shelters across the country now able to compete for the grand prize. In order to be in the running to win, the adoption center has to save 300 or more animals between Monday and Oct. 1 than it did in that same time frame in 2010.
