Animal board approves adoption special – GoDanRiver.com

The Animal Shelter Advisory Board for the Rockingham County Animal Shelter is in the process of developing a low-cost spay and neuter program and figuring out how to bring more people in the door for adoptions.

During Thursday night’s board meeting, Director Kevin Baughn discussed outsourcing the spay and neuter program to a location in Greensboro where the animals are picked up and dropped back off at the county’s animal shelter and the liability is not with the county. He said making this program work will be extremely important in curbing the county’s animal population.
