Dozens of pets leave Seattle shelter, others still need homes – seattlepi.com

Last week, the Seattle Animal Shelter waived adoption fees – and nearly 100 animals left the shelter to good homes.

During the promotion, which ran from June 23 to Fourth of July, 55 cats, 33 dogs and seven critters found owners. During the same period last year, 61 animals found homes.

Among the animals who left the shelter last week was Gidget, a pit bull terrier who lived in the kennels for four months.
