An Ohio animal shelter has just announced that they are going to be heavily “discounting” their overweight cats. Having a recent influx of these fat felines, they have changed their adoption charge from $70 to $15 for one cat, and $20 for two, in hopes that more people would take these little chubsters home with them.
I’m guessing the price-cut has to do with the fact that overweight cats have a much higher risk for all sorts of diseases and health-problems, including diabetes and bone/joint problems, since their bodies cannot handle all the excess fat they’re carrying. As a solution for the FIFTY FIVE overweight cats the shelter has taken in, they have created a designated area for them to run around and hopefully burn off the extra calories.
