PET TALK: A court official lunches with dogs –

Each weekday morning, the Honorable Commissioner Robert W. Nagby sits on the bench at Hemet’s Family Law Court to hear cases. But when the lunch break comes, he takes off the robe, grabs a bag full of cut-up hotdogs that he puts in the pocket of his jeans and heads off to the Ramona Humane Society.

Since January, Nagby has been a volunteer at the animal shelter and it’s something he looks forward to every day.

“It’s a big thing for me; to play with them and rub their bellies,” he said.
