Each year nearing summer, the population of homeless cats and kittens rise in the community. To help combat overcrowding at The Humane Society of St. Lucie County, the shelter is offering cats and kittens for only $20, reduced from $75. The adoption campaign, coined “$20 for the Whole Kitten-Cat-Boodle” offers felines who are already spay or neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated (for appropriate age) and sent with a “welcome home” packet.
“The furry friends come in all shapes, sizes, colors and personalities,” said Shawn Hart, community outreach coordinator. “We hope the all-inclusive lower adoption rate will encourage the community to think of adoption,” said Hart.
