Mike Knecht didn’t mind driving from his home in Chicago’s south suburbs to Valparaiso on Friday afternoon for a dog.
The only surprise was getting a different dog than the one he came for. Knecht found out that a young shepherd mix was a better fit for him and the dog he already had, which came along to meet the potential newest member of the family.
“Long story short, this is the one that seems to fit better,” Knecht said of Roxy, soon to be renamed Harley, in honor of Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso, where Knecht came to get the pooch.
