Consider adopting a pet from the shelter –

May is pet adoption month and we’d like to see families and individuals consider taking a dog or cat into your homes and your lives.

Pet ownership isn’t for everyone, but for many it can be a rewarding experience; consider the time and money that could be involved. Plus, training a pet to new surroundings takes time, patience and a lot of work. There will be successes and failures along the way.

Adopting a pet from the Humane Society of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s shelter on Mount Tom Road is relatively simple, quick and inexpensive. The highest fee is, $114, is for large dogs with a spay-neuter certificate and vaccinations.
