A South Carolina woman is helping dogs who were victims of the devastating Southern tornadoes.

The Island Packet of Hilton Head reported that Tallulah Trice of Bluffton took an empty cargo van to areas hit by the storm and will come back with dogs for adoption. Some residents in areas affected by the storms have been caring for strays as they rebuild their homes.

Trice is a board member of a Lowcountry foundation that relocates animals from overcrowded local shelters to areas with pet adoption lists.
