Lubbock’s new shelter offers hope for animals – Lubbock Online

It’s not so much about what city animal officers will bring to their new Southeast Lubbock adoption offices, but what they desperately want to leave behind.

Lubbock city officials and animal adoption volunteers toured Wednesday morning the city’s $4.8 million animal adoption center, following a ribbon cutting.

Animal officers are expected to begin moving adoptable dogs and cats into the facility in about a month.

The new-shelter smell still hung above a shiny, bacteria-resistant floor and unfurnished cat and dog adoption areas flooded with natural light.
