Some dogs that lost their home after the North Carolina tornadoes on Saturday could soon be ready for adoption at the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
The humane society asked the shelter to take 16 dogs, most of which are mixed breeds. Workers said the dogs are healthy, it will be at least 10 days before they are ready for adoption.
“They’re afraid, they’re nervous. We’re hoping that once we take care of them medically, and get them socialized they can find wonderful homes,” said Marsha Williams, animal shelter director.
