PetSmart Charities® will host a community adoption event with the goal of saving more than 50 pets in Richmond, Va. on April 9-10, 2011. The Richmond community adoption event will be held at the Chesterfield PetSmart® store located at 1276 Carmia Way in partnership with Richmond Animal League.
The event is part of 24 community adoption events PetSmart Charities is holding with its local animal rescue agency partners in cities across the United States and Canada throughout 2011. Last year, PetSmart Charities held 21 community adoption events that cumulatively saved the lives of 3,517 pets.
“Our community adoption events give pets in local communities the extra exposure they need to get the second chance they deserve,” said Susana Della Maddalena, vice president and executive director of PetSmart Charities, Inc. “Our animal-welfare partners helped us make this a very successful initiative in 2010, and we’re looking forward to being able to save even more lives this year.”
