Pet adoption center planned in TarryTown

Austin Pets Alive, which rescues pets, has announced plans to open a new adoption center in the Tarrytown Shopping Center.

The nonprofit expects that a May opening for the new adoption center will immediately help alleviate the large influx of cats expected at city and county shelters during the spring, and will help ensure that the Town Lake Animal Center maintains its no-kill success, said Dr. Ellen Jefferson, executive director and veterinarian at Austin Pets Alive.
