More than 50 dogs had their chance to shine — and find a loving owner — at the fourth annual dog adoption day, held Sunday at John Gagnon’s Pet Resort.
When it started, more than 100 potential adopters raced into the viewing room to meet potential faithful companions.
Shannon Lewie, of Granby, a volunteer with the Underhound Railroad, said the organization brought five dogs to showcase. She said this year was a particularly difficult one for dogs.
“People are losing their apartments and homes,” Lewie said.
“Apartment owners are also cracking down on breeds.”
