Pets and Seniors, Purr-fect Together

Studies show that pets help senior owners live longer, more enjoyable, healthier lives. They help lower blood pressure, reduce the amount of medication needed in some situations and prevent depression.

Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter wishes to support senior pet ownership and is pleased to announce our Pets for Seniors Weekend, April 29th-May 1st, 2011. Thanks to our partnership with the Purina Pets for Seniors program, adopters age 62 plus, who adopt a cat or dog over the age of 2 that weekend, will receive numerous special benefits.

Upon presenting proof of senior status, the senior will receive their pet adoption fee at 1/2 off, a substantial savings. They will also go home with a welcome package from Purina and Mt. Pleasant which may contain food coupons, litter pan, leash, toys and other items to help start the owner/pet relationship off on the right paw. All animals are vet checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption.
