Commercial shot in Camarillo airs during Super Bowl, wins $1 million and helps shelter

A local pug soared into Super Bowl stardom Sunday with a commercial that was truly worth $1 million.

Filmed in Old Town, the “Pug Attack” commercial was a top three finalist for Doritos’ Crash the Super Bowl Contest, a nationwide competition that invited contestants to write, shoot and direct their own commercial to be aired during the big game.

The 30-second spot featured a pint-sized pooch named Oko Nono and was one of three entries to beat out more than 5,000 others to air as a Doritos commercial during Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6.
