The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley will conduct multiple off-site pet adoption events on Saturday, with special low rates that day and extending through close of business on Valentine’s Day.
Available for adoption will be dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
All adoptions during the three-day event are only $14, which includes the first set of vaccinations, spay or neuter and microchip. Adoptions will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Farmers Market, in downtown Las Cruces. Other pet adoptions will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at PetCo, 3050 E. Lohman Ave., and from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Pet’s Barn, 1600 S. Valley Drive.
At all but the Farmer’s Market events, microchipping of pets that already have homes will be available for $20, and city pet licenses will be available to neutered pets for $5 each. Licenses for unneutered pets are $25 each. Proof of spay or neuter is required before a $5 license will be issued. Pet owners also must bring current proof of rabies vaccination for each animal to be licensed.
