When more than 150 dogs were rescued from an alleged Valley puppy mill earlier this week, space at the Mat-Su Borough’s animal shelter became a major issue.
Dogs that were already there had to be moved somewhere else, and an adoption fair in Anchorage Saturday tried to give some of them a new home.
The adoption fair was held by the organization Adopt a Dog AK, which puts dogs in foster homes while they try to find a good home. The next fair will be held at Coshok’s Canine Castle, on the Old Seward Highway, on Wednesday. Some of the dogs moved from Valley animal shelters to make room for the rescued dogs will be there.
