After SICSA’s van was stolen several months ago, the pet adoption center was given a serviceable but older van, which has helped them take pets to off site adoption events.
But the older van is on its last legs, and SICSA has a volunteer group, Friends of SICSA, (FOS) who routinely raises money for such things as medical equipment, computers, etc. that SICSA otherwise cannot afford.
FOS does this by having its core of volunteers make and sell literally hundreds of pet related toys, treats and other useful cat and dog items. FOS has pledged to raise $1.00 for every $2.00 donated by individuals, companies or organizations.
Interstate Ford has offered to find the right van for SICSA and offers rebates and a discounted price for the new van. Mark Stanton of Interstate, says “We have a lot of pet lovers here at the dealership, and we are glad to be able to help”.
SICSA adopts over 1200 pets each year to good homes, and can dramatically increase its assistance to the strays of the community with a roomy, dependable van.
