Marin Humane Society lowers cat adoption fee as feline intake climbs

The Marin Humane Society (MHS) has reduced the adoption fee for cats to $50 (from $100) with a New Year promotion that runs through January 31. Just two weeks into the New Year, the shelter reports it has has experienced a 50 pecent increase in its incoming feline shelter population

“Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen a particularly high volume of incoming strays and cats surrendered by their guardians,” said Tricia Breen, Director of Animal Care and Adoptions. “By reducing the adoption fee, we hope to increase adoptions and free up room for other animals in need.”
