The little tri-colored stray dog with pointed ears hesitated, but with tail wagging, he shyly bowed his head as his careful footsteps made their way to my car. I picked him up, drove back home and made a temporary bed for him in my garage.
Later, I coaxed him into the car and drove to the animal shelter, thinking someone would report him missing. He gazed at me, lovingly. At Young-Williams Animal Center, I reluctantly handed him over.
