Diry and gaunt, the female German shepherd lay helplessly on a patch of dirt near the corner of I Avenue and Main Street in Hesperia.
Struck by a vehicle, the pup gazed up at a Good Samaritan with uncertainty and fear.
“She was left to die,” said Stephanie James, who found the dog late last summer. James scooped her up, quickly realizing the dog’s left back leg was severely injured.
