A few years ago, my husband and I decided to get a kitty companion for our old cat, Fatty. I visited the neighboring Petsmart to see if any little kitty might need a home. I found a blue-eyed, tiny tiger with no tail all by itself in a cage; needless to say it was love at first sight.
I approached the clerk oohing and cooing, ready to sign up and take my new baby home. I was miffed when she said that the kitty was on hold! Someone had come by earlier and asked for them to hold the kitten until the next day. I thought, “Who would leave this precious thing here and not take it with them?” Disheartened, I left my name and number and asked them to call me that if the other person failed to show.
