‘Blizzard of kittens’ at area shelters seeking homes

Area shelters are seeking good homes for a flurry of young felines needing good homes this holiday season.

The Oregon Humane Society took in 34 kittens yesterday and expects 20 additional felines on Thursday and Friday, for a total of nearly 75 by Friday. The kittens are coming from the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, which is partnering with OHS and other shelters to help find homes for the young felines.

The kittens range from three to six months and are available for adoption for only $50 (half the usual adoption fee) from now until Dec. 31. You can get a second one for half-price ($25).

Fees for adult cats are reduced from $85 to $25, and a second adult cat is free.

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington offers the same adoption rates for kittens.

All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered and come with their initial vaccinations and additional supplies.
