The Delta County Animal Shelter is preparing for a special adoption event this weekend, but without a large population of the shelter mainstay – dogs.
In recent months, the shelter has experienced an increase in the number of dogs adopted. To compensate for their popularity, as well as to aid area shelters with overpopulation problems, the Delta County Animal Shelter recently brought in dogs from the Menominee County shelter.
“We have five dogs up for adoption right now,” said Delta County Animal Control Officer Ed Olsen. “We took six from the Menominee shelter and we only have one left of that six.”
