Boulder Humane Society wins national contest

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley has won first place and $100,000 from The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in a nationwide pet adoption contest.

Boulder Humane is one of 50 shelters across the country competing to see which could place the most homeless animals over a three-month period starting Aug. 1.

The Larimer Humane Society was the only other competitor from Colorado.
