There will be wagging tails and sloppy, wet kisses this holiday season, thanks to the dedication of the organizers of the recent Dog Days event here.
And, it was love at first sight for many shoreline residents who lined up at the Martin Bishop Field in Guilford to adopt 160 puppy and adult, big and small dogs.
With the help of over 100 area volunteers, the Wigmaster from WPLR, as well as donations from local merchants, a bake sale, a silent auction, a tag sale and lots and lots of hard work, the four-legged friends of all colors, shapes, sizes and breeds, got what they wanted most for the holidays, a new home.
Comedian, Gilda Radner once said, “I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.”
