Gov. Haley Barbour has proclaimed today-Nov. 14 as the second Mississippi Week for the Animals.
The week will highlight the importance that animals play in people’s lives. It also aims to bring communities together on behalf of the animals throughout the state.
This statewide event is designed to celebrate and build awareness on behalf of all animals, as well as recognize the organizations and citizens who support them.
The week will feature everything from pet adoption festivals and events to pet therapy in hospitals to educational activities.
