The future is uncertain for hundreds of pets in Hamilton County without permanent homes. Officials with the Hamilton County Humane Society say they are experiencing a crisis.
Currently, more than 800 animals have overwhelmed the shelter. Generally, 100 dogs and 300 cats are considered full capacity. The shelter never turns away animals that are brought in.
The concern now isn’t only space but funding. The humane society says it needs cash to feed, maintain and provide medical care. Even if you can’t welcome a four-legged guest into your home, you can still donate to the cause.
