This year’s Oktoberfest at the Ramona Humane Society will include entertainers, games, and a dunk tank, but the focus remains on finding homes for the animals at the San Jacinto shelter.
“It’s going to be a huge adoption event,” Executive Director Jeff Sheppard said.
Oktoberfest will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Pet adoption fees will be reduced to $25.
At last year’s Oktoberfest, 300 cats and dogs were adopted, which Sheppard called an “outstanding number.”
“It feels great to have some empty cages at the end of the day,” he said.
The shelter will not give out vouchers for free spaying and neutering as it has done previously. Sheppard attributed the change to a drop in funding.
