After several years of planning and some generous donations a new animal shelter is finally underway.
Since the 1950’s, the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center hasn’t changed very much.
“We’ve been struggling with deteriorating infrastructure for a long time now…the plumbing, the electrical,” said Wendy Kang, Executive Director.
All of the volunteers and staff say the building just doesn’t fit.
“This old facility wasn’t designed for the well-being of animals,” said Michelle Hengel, Director.
“It’s going to improve the whole system for animal care here in Douglas County for pet care,” said Barby Dowd, Volunteer.
