Dog Adoption Event this Saturday, Oct. 9th

Help Us Home!” is from 11a.m. to 3p.m. at Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, Across from Sear’s Auto Center near Shoppingtown Mall.

As the cold weather sets in, Helping Hounds is trying to find warm, loving homes for the dogs being sheltered at their rescue facility near Shoppingtown Mall. This Saturday, Oct. 9, Helping Hounds will host an adoption event. The community is invited to come out and meet the dogs (all available for adoption) and learn more about the rescue organization. This family-friendly event will be a fun, enjoyable way to spend a sunny day on Columbus Day weekend: There will be face-painting, food on the grill, and beverages and snacks, too!

Helping Hounds was founded in January 2009 with the rescue of a family of beagles from a Southern high-kill shelter.

Since then, Helping Hounds has found forever homes for more than 650 homeless dogs. While Helping Hounds rescues many

hound-type breeds from the South, the organization will often take in other breeds from other regions – and dogs range in age from puppies to seniors.
