Saddle River Pet Adoption Day and free Rabies Clinic

From 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, Dr. Kathleen Hefner of the Animal Hospital of Saddle River and Tyco Animal Control will co-sponsor the 1st Annual Saddle River Pet Adoption Day and Free Rabies Clinic to be held behind the Saddle River Firehouse at 85 E. Allendale Ave.

The surrounding community is invited to come support local pet adoption and welfare efforts and World Rabies Awareness Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of this deadly, but preventable viral disease that affects animals of all kinds, including humans. The entire family is welcome, including leashed pets, to enjoy the day and meet with local pet shelters and rescue groups. There will be warm, loving adoptable dogs and cats worthy of a forever home of their own.

The event will be attended by numerous animal welfare, rescue and service organizations including the Last Resort Pet Rescue and Sanctuary, Humane Society of Bergen County, Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Inc., Closter Animal Welfare Society (CLAWS), the Onyx and Breezy Foundation and others still to be announced. In addition, Dr. Hefner will be conducting a rabies clinic free of charge to the dogs and cats of Saddle River and the surrounding communities.

There was a little grey dog at the Saddle River Pet Adoption Day today and we would like to adopt it but do not know how to get in touch with the right person. Does anyone have a name and number we can call? Thanks Frank 917-921-9249
