Animal shelters — not only here in the Valley but across the country — are struggling with over-population and have a lot of pets that need to be adopted.
Heather Allen from the HALO Animal Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter, says pet owners increasingly are finding it hard to afford a pet in tight economic times.
That’s one of the reasons she says HALO is slashing adoption prices Saturday, September 25. Adult dogs cost $25, puppies cost $50, adult cats $5 and kittens cost $25. Allen says normal adoption fees are anywhere from $100 to $250.
All adopted animals come spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
