It was hard to tell who was more excited Sunday afternoon, the Valentine children or the puppies that hoped to go home with them.
The second annual “Get Your Licks on Route 66” Adoption Tour stopped in Tulsa on Sunday and parked its 40-foot mobile unit in the parking lot of WalMart, 10938 S. Memorial Drive.
Dozens of dogs and cats from Tulsa-area shelters were on hand for people interested in adopting a pet currently in foster care.
“We want to get the point out to please adopt from the shelters because there are loving animals that need a home,” said Jen Lewis, rescue associate with North Shore Animal League America, which organizes the tour.
