Thirteen dogs and four cats found news homes at Saturday’s Bow-wow and Meow Pet Adoption held at the old Porterville Fairgrounds. This event was a success according to both the coordinator and volunteer Shannon Corbit, as well as the other volunteers from the Porterville Animal Shelter, Selma Animal Shelter and Tulare County Animal Shelter.
The animals that were not adopted on Saturday would go back to the various shelters for adoption.
Families and couples came constantly to look, hold, or allow their children to pet the cats, and sometimes walk dogs while they considered adoption. Most of the animals were spayed and neutered, with up-to-date shots. Some of the animals were sponsored, meaning that their adoption was at a discounted rate or free.
