Volunteers are needed at the Assisi Animal Foundation.
The economic recession caused the no-kill animal shelter in Crystal Lake to experience a spike in its animal population, according to a news release. Volunteers who can donate several hours a week are needed to assist in caring for the influx of animals.
The shelter, which operates as a nonprofit organization, provides shelter, care, and re-homing of cats and dogs to responsible, permanent homes.
