Help us make a difference for a horse that deserves it
These folks have rescued an abused former race horse who has been starved and is in need of feed, veterinary care and a pasture shelter, since one of her many problems is rain-rot. (from being left out with no shelter)
She has a sweet disposition but you can see the pain in her eyes. Her feet are badly cracked and one has been cut. We’re not sure how it happened, but it needs to be addressed. Corrective shoes can help, but they are expensive and have to be replaced about every six weeks.
We know a lot of people are struggling out there, but we also know that a little bit from people who care can go a long way. This mare didn’t ask to be starved and abused, and she deserves more than what she got from her last owner.
They have successfully rehabilitated other abused horses and know we can do it again – with a little help from those who know that we can’t save them all, but we can make a difference – one horse at a time.

Taylors, SC – Grayson knew his mama was old and I guess was hoping she would live forever but at 92 she passed on. Her dying wish was that someone would be able to take him and give him a good home. Nobody wants me because I am three years old and everyone wants a kitten just cause their cute.
I am a huge handsome boy long-haired and a gorgeous shade of silvery gray. I will follow you wherever you go like a doggie and wait for you to sit down so I can come sit on your lap with you. I love to be brushed which I have to be with my beautiful long hair. I need to be an only kitty because I am a dominate boy. I have been neutered and given all my shots. My time is running out where I am and I don’t think I would fair very well at the pound. Please call Carole Henderson for more information at 864-630-2872.
A very good twitter friend of mine, @FelineUnit , passed on a message to me from another special twitter friend @ForeverGinger . This message has to do with some very sad new with the @PeroDaCat family. Unfortunately we have a limited amount of time.
Here is the original post and the ChipIn widget. Thank you so much for anything you can do to help, remember, every dollar makes a difference!
@PeroDaCat
Hello friends,
As many of you know, @PeroDaCat and his 3 feline siblings are in need of a new home. PeroDaCat’s mom is going to be moving into a nursing home sometime in March and she is trying to find homes for her feline children. As you can imagine she is extremely sad and concerned about the fate of her cats.
This fund is being set up to help with any costs that may be incurred in relocating PeroDaCat and his family to another state if needed. If for some reason no costs are incurred or money remains in this fund, I will contact the contributors and ask for input on where the money should be donated.
Please know that any donation will be greatly appreciated. I am always amazed by the generosity and kindness of the friends I have made on Twitter. It is my hope that we can find a home for the family of PeroDaCat and that none of us ever face this situation in our lives.
Just look at this sweet face. Misty needs to have surgery and really needs some help to pay for it all. Every dollar helps, really!
Misty Needs Your Help
Misty has a condition known as megacolon (you can read more about the condition here) and she needs surgery to correct the condition. Unfortunately, her owner cannot afford the surgery, and another local animal charity, No Greater Love, has stepped in to help him raise the funds for surgery.
I know, I know, kill shelter is an oxymoron, that term is used here to illustrate a point. Michelin North America has their U.S. headquarters in South Carolina. Many employees there have been taking care of the strays and the feral cats for years. No longer. Employees at the facility in South Carolina have been told, in part:
Notice regarding campus cats….due to the increasing number of cats on the campus, all cats will be humanely collected on January 15th and taken to the Greenville Animal Shelter. Currently we have 5 kittens and several adult cats available for adoption. If you are interested, please contact Jane Rainwater 864-422-4239.
It is important to point out the the Greenville Animal Shelter is a KILL facility. If they are not adopted in short order the will be put to sleep. There is a No-Kill facility in Greenville and one in the adjacent city of Spartanburg:
So what does this say about the corporate responsibility of Michelin anyways? Yep, you got it!
Need tires, buy something else, but don’t support Michelin if this is how they treat the less fortunate among us. Tell them that you will not buy their brand unless they do the right thing!
CALL TO ACTION: Email the Michelin Corporate folks and tell them just what you think of their corporate image. You can email them here: Michelin’s Corporate Citizenship Email, or better yet, give them a call and let them know what citizenship grade you would give them. Do what you can to call attention to this situation before it is too late!!!
Hello friends, I sent this out on Twitter a few days back, but one of our friends is having a rough time so some of her friends got together and are hosting an auction to help with the medical bills. If you find it in your heart to help, please click on the picture for the information. Thanks so much!
Elsie and Kelsie are running out of time and need some immediate help in order to survive! You see, Elsie was sent out to pasture by her owners (how rude!) and Kelsie was dumped because her family was getting company for the holidays (how doubly rude!). Both really need your help. This fund raiser is for the balance of only $230 that is needed to save them, but the clock is ticking. Please contribute and pray for them!
Poor little Marty needs lifesaving surgery for anal prolapse. According to his vet, the surgery has a near 100% chance of success in giving Marty the normal life he deserves. Marty needs some special help because the surgery is expensive and his parents are having a very difficult time in coming up with that much money. That’s where you can help. Please find it in your heart to help out sweet little Marty and give him the wonderful gift of a normal life with his loving family.
Please take the time to read Marty’s compelling story at HandiPets.com
Some of you may know me from my blog Brian’s Home , or from Twitter as @brian106sc or on Facebook as brian.frum . I love helping other critters find their forever home. You see, I lived in a small cage for eight months before finally finding my forever home. Now, not only am I very happy, we’ve adopted 4 sisters and their names are Sascha, Gracie, Zoe and Dolly. I’ve made it my mission to help others find the same happiness that I’ve found. Unfortunately I’m not always successful, but that sure won’t keep me from trying
