Flip Flop is a young adult. We are guessing he was born approximately middle of 2004. Flippers (as I like to call him) belonged to the neighbors behind me. Although they claimed to be animal lovers, they had a boxer on a very short chain and Flip Flop who ran loose all over the neighborhood and their 3rd dog got killed. About 6 months after I moved in and built the shelter, they moved and left Flip Flop behind.Flip Flop is such a social pup and loves everyone. He talks to you , does treat tricks and is so low maintenance, just wanting to lay in your lap and be loved. He is content just having a place to call home.have neutered and vetted him and he is ready to go just about anywhere. .he loves to play in his play group or just lay and sun… To meet him is to love him!! We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don’t have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here. Flip Flop on Petfinder.com

URGENT: Tommy and Gracie Need Homes NOW
Don’t know how I am getting into the kitty business but this one is really breaking my heart.
These babies will be going to the shelter if we cannot save them. They were found alongside a dead mama 9 months ago. They have been going to Petsmart every Saturday for adoption with the people who found them and no takers. They suffer terribly being put into carriers and taken the 45 minute drive to Petsmart where they are put into a tiny cage for people to look at. They absolutely become depressed since they have been doing this for seven months. I also ran a picture with a write-up in the Greenville News Newspaper trying to help these people and not a single phone call. They are at the point where they will have to take them to the shelter and there most likely be put to sleep. They just cannot keep them and I don’t know what else to do to help them. They have really tried everything.
They would pay for transport to anywhere and these kitties are fully vetted, checked for FIV, FeLeuk, which was negative, all shots, and spayed and neutered. The male is a total lap kitty and female is a little more stand-off-ish but once you sit down and have the male on your lap then she comes and sits next to you.
Thank you for anything you might do to help,

Mr. Gray Needs a Forever Home
Taylors, SC – Grayson knew his mama was old and I guess was hoping she would live forever but at 92 she passed on.

The Florence Area Humane Society will soon break ground on it’s long-awaited ‘no kill’ animal shelter.
The new facility will relieve overcrowding at it’s present one. At one time, officials say they were putting down at least 1,000 animals a year because of crowded conditions.
The new 6,500 square foot building will have 50 indoor/outdoor kennels, a quarantine area for sick dogs, and a much larger clinic area for sick dogs, and a much larger clinic area than the current facility.
There will be a separate area for cats and kittens, even a maternity ward.
Groundbreaking is set for Thursday, December 17th.

You've seen Angel Trees, the library has gone a step fur-ther! The Oconee County Public Library is sponsoring special “Furry” Angel Trees this holiday season. The idea came about as a way to help those animals in Oconee County who are patiently waiting for permanent loving homes.
Oconee County organizations that help to facilitate adoptions, provide food, shelter, and a warm bed continually have to make cut backs in the current economy. The OCPL feels that we shouldn't overlook those angels that may be a little on the “furry” side this season.
Library Director Sue Baldwin invites everyone to stop by their local branch library and take an ornament from the tree. ” On the back of the ornament is a list of items that are needed,” says Baldwin. “Buy what is listed on the back. Then return the items to any branch of the OCPL before December 23. We'll deliver your contributions to our partnering organizations so that they can continue to do great work with the animals.”
