Little Paco was devestated when he had to leave the only home he had ever known. His guardian, a woman of 83 was diagnosed with leucemia and the doctor told her that she had to create a germ free environment and had to get rid of her 2 little dog friends. Paco was shaking like a leaf when he first came to Paw Parent but adjusted really quickly and made friends fast with all the other dogs here. He is super loyal and will follow you everywhere. He likes to snuggle up right next to you and gives sweet, gentle kisses. He is quiet and mellow and is a joy to be with. Since his person never walked him he is in the process of learning what walking on a leash means. He has made significant progress! He has all his shots, is microchipped and neutered. CLAWS Cat Rescue and Adoption Shelter fights to remain open

Code violations put no-kill shelter at risk of closing.

Over the weekend, CLAWS Cat Rescue and Adoption Shelter held an emergency fundraiser in hopes of adopting out many of their cats and kittens and also collecting monetary and material donations.

DAPHNE, Ala. The Daphne Animal Shelter wants to give you the chance to spay and neuter your pets for free.

It gave the same offer three weeks ago, and few residents took advantage. The shelter set aside 25 vouchers for spaying and neutering cats, and the same amount for preventing the reproduction of dogs.

Simon and Garfunkel came from the streets, born to a feral mother. Thank God, kind people trapped them all and had them fixed, then asked Paw Parent to take the kittens. Aren’t they gorgeous? They are about 8 months old now and so very sweet. A little shy around people still, especially Garfunkel the grey one, but will never fight or scratch. They do like to get petted and love each other as you can see in the pictures. They are both very gentle, mellow and quiet. They are great using the litter box! They are both neutered and have their shots. They also both tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.

Emmy is a very sweet girl that loves to run after the laser toy but she’s also very fond of taking naps either in a sunny window by herself or at the foot of the bed with you which is one of her favorite things to do. This cutie was rescued from near starvation and living in a parking lot when we found her. Back then she was very thin and had to fight to get anything to eat. These days Emmy is on a diet and trying to keep her girlish figure under control. Emmy does well with other younger quieter kitties maybe because she likes to be the mom, but she would really like to be the only adult in her new home.
