100 pets for adoption at Puppy Palooza

One hundred homeless animals will be wagging their tails, giving out kisses or purring loudly for a chance to be adopted Jan. 9-10 at TAILS’ Puppy Palooza Adoption Event at Best Friends, 528 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT.

The event will feature 75 family friendly puppies and young dogs and 25 kittens and cats and will run both days from 10 to 5.

“These animals have really been given the gift of life. They’re the lucky ones,” Dorrie Harris TAILS’ president said. “This is the end result of pets not having been spayed or neutered — even though they’re so young and family oriented — they would be on death row right now had they not been rescued.”

The pups were rescued from certain death by Colbert Veterinary Rescue, based out of Colbert, Ga., where they were cared for, spayed/neutered and socialized.

Resident to pick up pet adoption fees

New Canaan animal activist and business owner Cathy Kangas is particularly set on helping shelter dogs and cats find warm homes this winter. Potential pet owners whose heart strings are tugged by a shelter pet from Adopt-A-Dog in Armonk, N.Y., can bring their furry companions home free of charge with her newly launched freebie adoption drive, Home for the Holidays.

“My goal would be that we clear out the shelter and find these poor things wonderful homes,” Kangas said.

Her company, Prai Beauty, has committed to fronting the fees — $100 for cats, $200 for adult dogs and $300 for puppies — for all adoptions through Jan. 1. If Home for the Holidays is successful, Kangas said she hopes to extend program indefinitely.

Kris and his brother Kringle Need a Forever Home

KRIS and his brother KRINGLE were abandoned in cat carriers at a local veterinary hospital on one of the coldest nights in December. They were found in the morning when the hospital opened, freezing but fortunately not frostbitten. Despite what they’ve been through they are in good spirits, friendly, and affectionate. The vet estimates Kris and Kringle are about 6-7 years old. They are healthy, neutered and current on vaccines. They may be adopted either separately or together.

The Best Thing – Will Got His Home

Remember Will?  Hit by a car, saved, rescued and saved again.  You have to read the entire story at CoveredInCatHair.com  It is the purrfect Thanksgiving miracle for sweet Will.

FROM CoveredInCatHair.com

The best thing that ever happened to Will, a year old run-of-the-mill white and brown tabby, was that he was hit by a car. If that fateful moment had passed uneventfully, the car swerved or Will’s timing had been a bit better, not only would we have no story, Will probably would have died.

Help Rescue the Holiday Kitties -RESCUED/FOSTERED

My good friend Robin from CoverInCatHair.com is attempting to rescue the 8 Holiday Kitties. However, transporting them to her home in Connecticut from Georgia is not overly cheap. She is accepting donations for their transport, and we’re a bit over half way there.

If you can spare a few green papers, the Holiday Kitties will have a wonderful and safe holiday season and end up with wonderful forever homes. It’s their only chance for a holiday miracle.
