Yavapai Humane Society waives pet adoption fees for veterans – Chino Valley Review

Memorial Day is coming up and Yavapai Humane Society wants to thank our veterans the only way we know how, by sending every American hero home with a new best friend.

In May, adoption fees will be waived for all active and retired military members.

Members of the military are used to saving lives but civilians can help, too. Tell us who you will be thanking for their service this Memorial Day and receive 50% off your adoption from May 11 – May 31.

Every adoption from YHS includes a spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, complimentary check-up from one of our local veterinary partners, and a month of pet health insurance – over $400 of services. Puppies, purebreds and dogs under 15 pounds are their normal, low adoption fee.

County pet adoption gets into spirit of march madness – East Valley Tribune

Out for a new pet? Take advantage of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control’s “March Madness.”

Through Sunday, any two dogs (including puppies) can be adopted for $74 and any two kittens (under one year old) can be adopted for $40. Cats more than a year old are free to adopt.

Every dog and cat will be spayed or neutered and given age appropriate vaccinations. Dogs over the age of three months will also be licensed. Microchips are available for $25.

Discounted Adoption Fees for Kittens

An anonymous cat lover has sponsored discounted kitten adoptions at Yavapai Humane Society during the month of March. To celebrate YHS’ 40th anniversary adult dogs and cats have had a discounted adoption fee of $40 during February and March. This donation will allow kittens to be included in the promotion. Kittens under 6 months old usually have an adoption fee of $95.

“When this kind donor approached us with her idea, we were very excited. Kitten season is just starting and this gift will go far in reducing the strain on the shelter from the influx of kittens,” says Ed Boks, YHS Executive Director.

The sponsored adoption fee will be available at Betty’s Cattery at the main YHS shelter on Sundog Ranch Road and at the YHS Cat Adoption Center in PetSmart on Highway 69. As always, if the kitten has been tested for FELV, the adopter covers the nominal cost of that test. All adult cats (over 6 months) are Pick Your Price.

Humane Society lowers cat adoption fee to ease crowding

If you’ve been considering opening your home to a feline companion, it might be time to take the plunge into furry friendship.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona has lowered its adoption fee for adult cats to ease crowding at the shelter, said HSSA spokeswoman Sara Gromley.

Because the cat enclosure has reached capacity, HSSA is offering a $15 adoption fee for cats 5 months and older through the end of February. The regular fee is $80, said HSSA spokeswoman Sara Gromley.

All cat adoptions include microchip identification, up-to-date vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, feline leukemia and FIV testing, and a free visit to a veterinarian of the adoptee’s choice, Gromley said.

“The Humane Society of Southern Arizona has hundreds of wonderful, loving animals available for adoption,” Gromley said. “If you’ve been thinking about adding a pet to your life, now is the perfect time to help a deserving cat in need.”

Petapalooza coming to Camp Verde this year – The Verde Independent – Cottonwood, Arizona

That’s when the annual valley-wide pet adoption extravaganza called Petapoolza will take place in Camp Verde at the community center, the gymnasium and at Fort Verde State Historic Park.

Now in its 10th year, Petapalooza will be in Camp Verde for the first time. Previous events have been held in Cottonwood and Sedona.

Adoption Fees Reduced in February (AZ) – TriValley Central

For the entire month of February, Pinal County Animal Care & Control is dropping the fee to adopt a dog to $55 and dropping the cat adoption fee to just $20.

“The decision to add a pet to your household should be carefully thought out but our shelter pets have so much love to share, we wanted to try a month long promotion,” said Animal Care & Control Director Kaye Dickson. “We also have to make temporary changes to our hours and days of operation, due to other outreach events and an injured staff person who required emergency surgery.”

The shelter will not be open on Saturdays in February but will instead stay open an extra hour each weekday. Pinal County Animal Care & Control will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Our kennel technicians will tend to the animals in the shelter throughout the weekend but sufficient staffing will not be available to open for the public,” Dickson said.

Lost pets can still be picked up over the weekend. “All they need to do is call us on Friday and we’ll make a weekend appointment for a staff person to reunite them with their lost pet.”
