The cat adoption room at the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, with it’s scratching posts, mini hammocks and dozens of toys, may look like a feline paradise, but Kim Laczynski, program director at the center, says that’s not always the case, especially when the room becomes crowded.
During the summer, the center’s busiest time of year, the room gets plenty full, employees said.
That’s why the center is reaching out to local residents to consider serving as foster families for cats and kittens waiting for adoption.
