The Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Road, is running a “Paws in Paradise” adoption campaign through June 1, offering 50 percent off dog adoption fees for dogs older than 6 months. The promotion is to help increase the shelter pet adoptions in light of a dramatic drop in adoptions statewide.
Some of the drop is due to pet owners are giving up dogs and cats because they can’t afford to care for them any longer.
