California is swarming with Chihuahuas. That’s why one Colorado woman is flying dozens of them to new homes.
“Chihuahuas in California are 30 percent of the shelters and they’re exploding and they’re all being put down because they have no homes,” Leslie Capin said. “It was tough, especially since I have a Chihuahua.”
Capin’s dog recently won title of nation’s cutest dog in a contest, so she’s donating her $1 million prize money to animal welfare organization Dumb Friends League and no-kill shelter MaxFund to help find new owners for the Chihuahuas.
